Megan Joplin, a New York-based photographer, has spent the last year photographing women, and sometimes their partners, who have suffered from or been directly affected by recurrent miscarriage or pregnancy loss. Although it has been reported that almost 25% of pregnancies may end in loss or miscarriage, only about 1-2% of women experience the loss of an unborn child more than once. Miscarrying multiple times can be beyond painful, isolating and debilitating. This project is also a very personal one, Megan miscarried four times prior to having her son in the Fall of 2008.
Photos from the series The Miscarriage Diaries can be found here. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact Megan at miscarriagediaries at gmail dot com
